Description
CONNECTICUT - EA 1982 - HORSELESS CARRIAGE - ANTIQUE AUTO - EARLY PAIR - EARLY AUTOMy Dad collected plates, and we collected cars. In the 1950s when Connecticut issued the first porcelain plates for permanent use on antique cars he got number 233 for his 1910 Model T Touring. That plate went on other cars, and in time he also obtained 2 different numbers in the early 100s from friends. I sold those plates years ago.
This set was on my 1929 Model A Ford roadster. I had my initial plates on that car, but transferred them to my 1956 Chevy Two-Door Hardtop when in college. At some point in time my Dad put this pair of plates on my Roadster. Whether they came from another car, or were issued to us in 1965 when I transferred the other plates off my A, I do not remember. BUT, seldom offered as an original pair. There is some discoloration on the plates that I tried to show in the images below.
